Summer Beauty Favorites

Ever since I found out about makeup, I've had an affinity for it. Throughout the years, I've gotten better and better with my makeup skills and my beauty and skin-care tricks, and it's become a big part of my every day life. Below are some of the make up, skin care, and hair products, along with some other random beauty items that I've been loving since May. (And maybe even a little bit before!)

  • Matte neutral lip products: just in general. Specifically, I've been using MAC's Velvet TeddyNYX's Soft Matte Lip Creme in Abu Dhabi, and Urban Decay's lip liner in Naked. I know that spring and summer are usually the times to bust out your bright pinks and reds and oranges, but I'm a fan of wearing rosy nudes all year-round. Each of these products don't transfer — they stay on your lips if you eat or drink — and they're very long lasting. The NYX lip creme, especially, feels like there's absolutely nothing on your lips, which is a big plus to me.

  • Maybelline FIT Me Concealer: In all honesty, I've always only used high-end concealers. I'd always splurge on the MAC Pro-Longwear or NARS Creamy Concealer because I thought they'd do better due to their high price. I decided to pick up the Maybelline concealer one day and it was one of the best decisions I've recently made! It blends like a dream and it covers with minimal product. Definitely will be repurchasing.

  • Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge: Holy grail product here! It's EXACTLY like the beauty blender, except it's $15 dollars less. It's so soft and it blends your foundations and concealers incredibly. I was so surprised that a $6 sponge could work this well, and I'm super glad that I purchased this one instead of blowing money on the beauty blender! It also has a flat, angled edge that the BB doesn't have, which makes blending under-eye concealer very easy.

  • Benefit High Beam: One of my favorite parts of my makeup routine is highlighter, and this one is my all time favorite. It's a liquid/cream formula, and this makes blending super easy. It gives off the most radiant and healthy glow, which makes it perfect for summer! I also purchased the full sized bottle last summer, and I still have yet to run out of it. Definitely worth the money!

  • Marc Jacobs Brow Wow: As someone who's all about the brows, I need to have a good, waxy, waterproof brow pencil. The Marc Jacobs Brow Wow is exactly that! It's a retractable pencil with a spoolie on the other end. It's a beautiful product and fully worth the money. I'll be repurchasing once I run out!

  • Josie Maran Argan Oil: Another holy grail product! I used to use heat on my hair every single day, which, as you could guess, extremely damaged it. This oil smooths out my split ends and makes my hair so soft and silky once it's set in completely. You can also use it as a heat protectant, so your hair stays healthy and smooth!

  • Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray: This hair product is absolutely perfect for summer. It's great if you want a natural beachy-waves look without going to the beach. It's just a spray that contains natural sea salt, which adds texture and body to your hair. If you naturally have wavy/curly hair, it'll enhance them! If you don't, you can just curl your hair into loose waves and spray it on, and it'll give you the loose beachy/messy look that we all desire during summer. I've been very into recreating those "big 90's" hair looks, inspired by Shelly Johnson and Winona Ryder, and this product definitely helps with that.

  • First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser: I'm not joking when I say this product has literally changed my life. I was an avid Proactiv user for close to two years, but sadly, the system stopped working for me. I got a sample of the FOB Face Cleanser, and I immediately went and purchased a full-sized tube of it after just a few uses. It almost 100% cleared up my skin in only a few days of using it nightly. I would recommend this to anyone who's looking to clear up their skin for summer!

  • Mask of Magnaminty: Hands down my favorite face mask EVER. It's a self-preserving mask from Lush, and it's made from all natural ingredients. It smells exactly like mint chocolate chip ice cream and it feels super tingly and icy on your face. The ground aduki beans are what exfoliate your face and what leave it soft and smooth after you rinse it off. This mask is also incredible for treating acne. The morning after I use it, I see a difference any acne I may have. Using it once a week has made my skin so much better in every way possible and I cannot recommend this enough — no matter what season.
